When can I pick up my race packet?
Race packets for the Mammoth Half Marathon and 5K can be picked up at the Sport, Health & Fitness Expo on June 21, 2014. To learn more, visit Sport, Health & Fitness Expo.
I will not be able to pick up my race packet at the Expo. How can I get my race packet?
Yes, if you are unable to pick up your race packet at the Sport, Health & Fitness Expo, a friend you family member can pick-up your packet for you, as long as you have a copy of their signed waiver and photo ID. The waiver is downloadable from our Expo page.
I am a community member. What roads will be closed on race day?
A full listing of road closures and detours by neighborhoods affected by the race course can be found on the Community Info page.
Where can I find the race results?
Race results are posted on our Results page as soon as they are available. To see 5K results, please select “5K” from the “Select A Race” dropdown menu on the left side of the page.
How do I confirm my registration or find out my Bib #?
To look up your Bib # online, please visit our Bib # Lookup. You will need to enter your first and last name exactly as you entered it when you registered. For example, if you registered as John Doe Jr., be sure to include the “Jr.” after your last name. The Bib # Lookup also serves as confirmation of your registration.
What is the route for the half marathon and 5K?
The route for the half marathon is a breathtaking run through the beauty of the eastern sierras. To learn more about the routes, visit The Course (for the half marathon) or the 5K Course.
Is there a time limit?
Yes, the half marathon has a time limit of 4 hours (18 minute/mile pace) and the 5K has a limit of 1 hour (19minute/mile pace). If you end up not on pace to finish within the time limit at the halfway point, you will have the option to be picked up or continue and finish as a pedestrian. You will receive a finisher’s medal regardless of your finish time.
Are there aid stations along the route?
Yes, 7 aid stations are strategically positioned all along the half marathon and 5K routes, approximately every 2 miles.
Are strollers or wheelchairs allowed on the course?
Unauthorized bicycles, motorized vehicles, wheelchairs and strollers not permitted on the race course due to safety concerns.
Am I allowed to bring my own water bottle?
Yes, and we encourage this eco-friendly option. Each aid station will include fresh water to refill your bottle.
Are iPODs, iPhones and other personal listening devices permitted?
Yes, we are an mp3-player friendly race. However, for your safety, please adjust your volume so that you are aware of your surroundings at all times.
How do I find out what wave I’ve been assigned to?
Waves are assigned according to the estimated finish time that you indicated during registration. Your bib will have your wave assignment pre printed on it, and wave assignments are also indicated below. If you would like to change waves, please make sure to move to a higher number wave (slower estimated finish time).
5K Wave Assignments:
Wave 1: 30 minutes or less
Wave 2: 30 – 60 minutes
Half Marathon Wave Assignments
Wave 1: 1:50 hrs or less
Wave 2: 1:55 – 2:10 hrs
Wave 3: 2:15 – 2:30 hrs
Wave 4: 2:30 – 4:00 hrs
Will the race, expo or Celebrate Mammoth Lakes Block Party event be canceled in the event of rain?
No, the race, expo and post-event will be held whether it’s sunny, raining, snowing or anything in between. We anticipate beautiful weather, but it’s always a good idea to check the weather forecast a few days before the race so you can dress appropriately.
Does the race have gear check?
Yes, both the half marathon and 5K have an official gear check bag and the drop-off locations are adjacent to their respective start lines. For details, please refer to the final instructions, which will be available from our website the week prior to race day.
I am active duty in the military and just got orders to be shipped out. Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
Transfers are not allowed for any registration, however, active military who receive orders may choose to either defer their entry to the following year’s race or receive a refund. Email your request with a copy of your orders to email@example.com no later than 10 days prior to event day.
I’ll be traveling in from out of town. Do you have any hotel blocks reserved?
Yes, we have partnered with several local hotels and we will have shuttles to the start and from the finish. To secure room blocks at discounted rates, be sure to reserve your room early! To learn more, visit Travel & Hotels.
If I’m not running the half marathon or 5K, can I attend the Celebrate Mammoth Lakes Block Party?
Yes, friends and family of runners, plus local residents and tourists alike are encouraged to join the festivities downtown on Sunday, June 22, 2014! To learn more, visit Celebrate Mammoth Lakes Block Party.

What is The Mammoth Half Marathon?
The Mammoth Half Marathon is a 13.1-mile race that celebrates the beauty and uniqueness of Mammoth Lakes, while raising money to help the community. The event also includes a 5K (3.1-mile) race option. To learn more about the routes, visit The Course (for the half marathon) or the 5K Course.
How do I register for the Mammoth Half Marathon or 5K?
To register, click on Register Now. Online registration closes on June 14th and a limited number of bibs will be available at the expo for purchase. For further inquiries regarding availability, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Is there an option to register on-site? What is the fee?
On-site registration will be based on availability. If either the half marathon or 5K is not sold out, on-site registration fees will be announced closer to race day.
What is The “San Diego – Mammoth Challenge”?
If a participant finishes both the San Diego Half Marathon and the Mammoth Half Marathon in the same calendar year, they will receive an additional extra-large commemorative “San Diego – Mammoth Challenge” medal! What is Celebrate Mammoth Lakes Block Party?
The Celebrate Mammoth Lakes Block Party will take place concurrently and after the Mammoth Half Marathon on June 22, 2014, in downtown Mammoth Lakes. How do I estimate my finish time?
For your convenience, use the table below to help estimate your finish time. So that you are grouped together in our start waves with other similarly-paced runners, base your estimate on your most recent training pace or race results.
I am unable to participate in the half marathon. Can I transfer my bib or receive a refund?
Unfortunately, as stated in our policy here on the website and during registration, all race entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.
