How do I estimate my finish time?

For your convenience, use our downloadable pace table to help estimate your finish time when you register.  In order to group together similarly-paced runners, base your estimate on your most recent training run or race results.

 

What is the Mammoth Half Marathon & 5K?

The Mammoth Half Marathon is a 13.1-mile (21 km) race that celebrates the beauty and uniqueness of Mammoth, while raising money to help local communities & charities. A 5K (3.1-mile or 5 kilometer) race option will also be held on the same day.

What is the “San Diego – Mammoth Challenge”?

If you finish both the San Diego Half Marathon and the Mammoth Half Marathon in the same calendar year, you will receive an additional extra-large commemorative “San Diego – Mammoth Challenge” medal! Both events are hosted by the same non-profit organization and 100% of net proceeds benefit their respective local communities & causes. To learn more, please visit: The Challenge

I am registered for the half marathon. How can I transfer to the 5K?

To transfer from the half marathon to 5K, you can pick-up your half marathon packet then run the 5K with your bib and no further action is required. Keep in mind that shuttles to 5K Start depart from Petco Park’s Tailgate lot beginning by 6:00am, so please arrive early.

Who will receive medals and how will winners will receive awards?

Each Mammoth Half Marathon and 5K finisher will receive a medal after completing their race, regardless of finish time.

Half Marathon and 5K Awards include:

  • Top 3 Overall, Male & Female Winners
  • Top 3 Masters (age 40 & above) Overall, Male & Female Winners
  • Age Group Winners – Top 3 Male & Female Winners in the following age groups: 13 & under, 14-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
  • Top Co-ed Team of 10 (Half Marathon only).  Average of top 8 finishers, with a minimum of 2 of each gender in the calculation.

*Please note that all age group awards will be based on net chip time and all overall awards will be based on gun time. After official results have been verified, a congratulatory text will be sent to all winners. Awards will not be mailed following the event, so please be sure to register with your SMS phone number so we can text you the details on how to pick up your award after your race.

I will not be able to pick up my race packet on Saturday in Mammoth. What are my options?

If you are unable to pick up your race packet at packet pickup, please email: info@mammothhalfmarathon.com to make arrangements to pick up your packet.  Alternatively, a friend or family member can pick up your race packet for you.  All they will need is a copy of the your valid photo ID and signed Waiver.

I am registered for the 5K. How can I transfer to the half marathon?

To transfer from the 5K to the half marathon, please visit our online Store, available while supplies last.

Do you have pacers or a pace team?

Yes!  If you have a  finish time goal you want to meet, our friends at the Mammoth Track Club and the Rock Runners will be leading pace groups for the following finish times:

1 hr 45 mins, 2 hrs, 2 hrs 15 mins, 2 hrs 30 mins

Look for the bright yellow pace bibs in your wave at the start line!

Where is race packet pick-up? Is there an expo?

A 1-day race Packet Pickup will be held at the Mountain Center. To learn more, please visit: Packet Pickup or consult the final instructions. Final instructions will be emailed to each participant by Monday, June 13th.

I am unable to participate in the half marathon, relay or 5K. Can I transfer my bib or receive a refund?

As stated in our policy, all race entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.

 

What is your cancellation policy? What if I can’t make the race? Do you allow transfers?

Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable, unless you are active duty military and have received new orders.  Please email your request with a copy of your orders to: info@mammothhalfmarathon.com.

How do I confirm my registration or find out my Bib Number?

If you would like to confirm your registration, please visit our online Bib # Lookup, and enter your first & last name exactly as when you registered. (For example, if you registered as John Doe Jr., be sure to include the “Jr.” after your last name.) The Bib # Lookup also serves as confirmation of your team affiliation.

 

Is there a time limit? / Do you allow walkers?

Yes, the half marathon has a time limit of 4 hours (approximately a 18 minute per mile pace). If you’re not on pace to finish within the time limit at the halfway point, you may need to be picked up by our shuttles, or turn around. The 5K has a time limit of 1 hour (approximately a 19 minute per mile pace) due to the half marathon coming up from behind and, if not on pace, you may be asked to finish as a pedestrian. You will receive a finisher’s medal regardless of your finish time.

Where do I park for the Packet Pickup?

Race weekend parking, shuttle info & driving directions will be included in the final instructions and emailed to all participants by Monday, June 13th.

How do I know what my wave number & exact start time will be?

Your actual start time is based on your race and wave number assignment, which will be listed on your race bib. Waves are staggered approximately 2 mins apart, with Wave 1 beginning at ~7:15am.

Are there aid stations along the route?

Yes, aid stations are strategically positioned all along the half marathon and 5K routes, approximately every 2 miles. To learn more, visit: half marathon or 5K page

Are strollers or wheelchairs allowed on the course?

Unauthorized bicycles, motorized vehicles, wheelchairs and strollers not permitted on the half marathon course due to safety concerns.  However, for the 5K race only, you are welcome to have pets or strollers join you. For further inquiries, email info@mammothhalfmarathon.com.
